Reflections on Freedom – July 4th Yesterday, the Republican-led House passed one of the most devastating spending bills in recent memory—one that celebrates wealth and power while further harming the vulnerable. Like many, I felt a wave of grief, anger, and helplessness. What kind of freedom are we celebrating when so many are struggling to survive? And yet—today, I return to a deeper truth. Spiritual freedom says: No matter what the outer world does, I can choose how I meet it. This doesn’t mean bypassing the pain. It means transmuting it. So on this Independence Day, I am declaring my soul's sovereignty. I free myself from hopelessness. Instead, I recommit to the real revolution: May we never forget that true power is spiritual.
